The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra held its evaluation conference for the academic year 2022/2023 under the slogan “We work together to improve our scientific reality.”
The conference witnessed a wide presence of members of the College Council, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Fateh Abdel-Sahib Al-Khaqani, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ali Taha Yassin, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Raed Taha Yassin, the Director of the Quality Department at the University of Basra, Dr. Khadija Sadiq, the deans of some colleges, and the professors and employees of the college.
The conference opened with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a pause of mourning and the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of our free martyrs.
During the conference, the Dean gave a speech in which he reviewed the achievements of the past year and identified the weak points and ways to address them, the college’s ability to deal and manage the increasing number of students annually, its successful management of the ministerial evaluation examinations as an examination center for the southern region, and other administrative and technical aspects.
Al-Khaqani announced the Ministry’s response to the ongoing demands to provide a building for the college in Bab al-Zubair to accommodate the increasing number of students, which constitutes the most important obstacles for students and teachers.
Dr. Sondos Abdel-Wadood Nehme reviewed the scientific aspect, the proposed projects for the past year, the completion rates, the memorandums of understanding, the number of courses, workshops, seminars, seminars, and community services.
Dr. Salman Abdel-Saheb Atshan reviewed the administrative and technical aspects, restoration and maintenance operations for the building, rehabilitating and equipping the new laboratories, and building the Imam Ali Hall in Bab Al-Zubair and equipping it with smart screens, the electronic portal, and other administrative matters.
University conferences aim to review the colleges’ academic and administrative progress over the past years in order to avoid making the same mistakes in the coming years.
The conference presented several recommendations that would evaluate work at the scientific and administrative levels.
The conference concluded by honoring the assistants and the Director of the Quality Division.
