University of Basra organizes a lecture on teaching design
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra organized a lecture on teaching design
The lecture, which is part of the teaching methods course, the updated curriculum for the southern region, aimed to identify how to design a lesson in professional ways that are useful to the professor and the student, as it reduces time and effort for both parties, in addition to its importance of clarifying the details of the scientific content in a sequential and consistent manner, so that at the end of the lecture the trainee will be able to know the meaning of Teaching design and its importance for the teacher and student, and to understand the importance of formulating smart goals and determining study rules easily, and to deduce the basic foundations of educational design planning, and to differentiate between strategy, style and method, and distinguish good specifications for teaching strategies.
The lecture presented by Dr. Inaam Mahmoud Najm Al-Rubaie included a presentation consisting of the title and objectives of the lecture, the contents of the lecture, the target group, the educational methods presented in the form of a short video clip to attract the attention of the trainees, the scientific content, implicit activities, conclusions, conclusion, sources, and tasks at the end of the unit.
In the end, the recommendation was to pay attention to designing the scientific content of the lesson according to the regulations and to set smart goals for the academic content so that they are clear, accurate, measurable, applicable, and time-bound, and to choose the appropriate strategy according to the specialization and subject to ensure the delivery of the scientific material to the student.
Formulating multiple activities that help build the student’s motivation and active participation so that the student is the main focus of the educational process and the professor is a guide and facilitator and provides appropriate educational means that facilitate the delivery of scientific content to the student.
