The Clinical Laboratory Sciences Branch at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah in cooperation with the College of Medicine, organized a symposium on designing biomedical studies, choosing appropriate statistics for them, and common errors in them.
The symposium aimed to provide scientific researchers and graduate students with the most important information they should know about scientific medical research.
The symposium included a lecture by Professor Dr. Azza Sajid from the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah in which she discussed the design of medical, health and scientific studies and how to classify academic articles related to the medical and health aspects, whether they are reviews or experimental research, as these classifications are of fundamental importance in classifying the various studies according to the organization. Information and scientific research data, which in turn govern the selection of the correct statistical method to reach an accurate research result on which an accurate scientific conclusion can be built. As for Professor Dr. Nael Hussein Ali, he explained in his lecture how to choose the appropriate statistics method for graduate students and researchers in biomedical research, how to choose the appropriate statistical method for biomedical research, the errors contained, the interpretation of information collected through research or through electronic medical records, and how to use this information to improve Interaction and communication between medical service providers and patients and other uses in improving and developing medical services. As for Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Hussein Abd, he explained in his lecture the errors in choosing the statistical method and how to overcome them by pointing out some of the most important errors related to the statistical analysis of graduate students’ research data and explaining the reasons for considering them as errors, and specifying corrections to them to avoid that graduate students and other researchers fall into those errors. And Mistakes to enhance the integrity of scientific research outputs in Iraqi universities.
