The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra organized an article about the concerns of virginal poetry poets in the Umayyad era.
The seminar aims to shed light on the phenomenon of anxiety in the poetry of the virgins by studying the motives of anxiety, its types and connotations in the poetry of the virgins, interrogating the poetic texts and demonstrating the impact of the feeling of anxiety in their poetic experiences, which appeared through a set of connotations and aspects.
The episode presented by graduate student Heba Rahim Hassan showed the motives and causes of anxiety among poets, represented by the struggle of the self with society and its set of systems, represented by the customs and traditions that the poet collided with and suffered from, which generated anxiety at that time, and the effect of this social pressure on their poetry.
