A teacher at the University of Basrah publishes research in the global database (Scopus)
Lecturer Hussein Shatti Al-Issa, a lecturer in the Oral Diagnosis Branch at the College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah, published a research within the global database (Scopus) in the Romanian Journal for Diabetes Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases.
About the possibility of hypoparathyroidism due to excessive use of proton inhibitors (PPI), which are used to treat stomach and intestinal ulcers, as well as digestive system disorders, thus affecting the balance of calcium and magnesium in the blood.
In his research, he recommended the necessity of avoiding excessive use of proton inhibitors and not taking them without medical advice, as well as monitoring calcium and magnesium levels for people who need to use them for long periods.
