The University of Basrah visits the Chinese Petroleum Engineering and Construction Company (CPECC).
A delegation from the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah visited the Chinese Petroleum Engineering and Construction Company (CPECC), represented by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Sarmad Abdullah Abbas, the heads of the college’s departments, and a number of college professors and students.
The visit included a meeting with Counselor Ji Gang and Consul Liao Ferui from the Chinese Consulate General in Basrah, Mr. Chen Xinrong, General Manager of PetroChina Middle East Company, Mr. Zhang Jianli, General Manager of PetroChina (Iraq) Rumaila Company, and Mr. Zhang Yusen, Executive Director of the China Petroleum and Construction Engineering Company, as well as A friendly football match took place between the College of Engineering team and the Chinese company team, and the match ended with the College of Engineering team winning 3-1 as part of the Chinese company’s Open Day initiative. Gifts were also distributed between the two sides.
The visit aims to strengthen relations between the University of Basrah, College of Engineering, and the Chinese Petroleum Engineering and Construction Company, and to train students and graduates from the University of Basra to provide them with job opportunities.
