The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra held a panel discussion on the nature of the rhythmic formation of poetic ideas within the verse and the poem.
The episode aims to know the nature of rhythmic formation and the nature of the growth of the poetic sentence within the verse, and to take the appropriate rhythmic form that conveys the idea with its emotional and expressive aspects.
The seminar, which was moderated by Dr. Ali Abd Ramadan, included a study of some poetic models by poets such as Imru’ al-Qays, Abu Dhu’ayb al-Hudhali, and the poet Hays Bais, revealing the movement of rhythm in those models and the internal coloring they witness according to what is required to express ideas within the verse, and how the poet chooses the appropriate rhythmic image for each. An idea that contributes to producing poetic significance with high effectiveness, and transforming the prosodic rhythm into an artistic rhythm stemming from the essence of the poetic language and the specificity of its expression, to be a living and effective element of the formation of the poem and its emotional and expressive connotations.
