The Department of Geography at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra organized a seminar on the spatial analysis of industrial integration between large facilities in the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar and Maysan.
The seminar aims to shed light on the concept of industrial integration, the importance and nature of economic feasibility studies for large manufacturing facilities, and their relative importance in the domestic product.
The seminar presented by the graduate student (Ahmed Talib Hasab) dealt with studying the elements of industrial settlement, identifying the structure of manufacturing industries and their geographical distribution, and the nature of the forward and backward connections through the use of statistical methods and locational patterns such as dispersion, concentration, and industrial diversity in the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar, and Maysan.
