The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Humanities - University of Basra held a symposium on early marriage, its pros and cons.
The symposium aims to explain the advantages and disadvantages of early marriage for both partners, and to increase cultural and social awareness among students.
During the symposium, which was moderated by Ms. M. Iman Naeem Shair and A. M. Dr.. Ikthar Khalil and A. M. Dr.. Hanaa Sadiq and M. M. Duaa Bashir touched on the positives of early marriage for both partners, such as providing emotional stability for the person, as the life partner finds emotional support at an early stage of life, forming a family and having children, and enjoying the experience of parenting at an early age, as well as the negatives of early marriage and its impact on physical and emotional health. For the girl, the symposium emphasized writing the marriage contract in court in order to preserve the rights of the husband and wife.
