University of Basrah holds a scientific symposium on the occasion of International Arabic Language Day
The College of Education for Human Sciences at University of Basrah held a scientific symposium on the occasion of International Arabic Language Day entitled The Arabic Language between Authenticity and Keeping Up with the Times.
This symposium aims to shed light on contemporary issues facing the Arabic language, especially on the level of the impact of modernity and social media on the use of the Arabic language and the emergence of new terms and vocabulary imposed by those circumstances.
During the symposium, many research papers were presented on the life of the Arabic language, its growth and development, the characteristics of the Qur’anic term and its connotations, the role of chanting in highlighting the poetic energies of the language, a reading of the possibilities of Arabic poetry’s meter, and many poetic poems and cultural contributions presented by college professors and students.
