
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra participated in the university Qur’anic competition and won first places, as the university Qur’anic competition in memorization and recitation was launched in its first edition, which was held by the University of Basra in cooperation with the Holy Qur’an Academy for Memorization and Islamic Studies in Basra.
More than thirty students from the faculties of the University of Basra participated in the theater hall of the College of Arts, reciting the Holy Qur’an with their voices, amid a majestic presence from all faculties. Dr. Haider Awfi, Dean of the College of Physical Education, Dr. Firas, and Dr. Ali Al-Asadi attended, and the presence of clerics, including Sheikh Ammar Al-Rubaie and Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Karim, had a great impact in motivating this important segment.
The College of Dentistry was distinguished and pioneered in obtaining the first places, as the student Mujtaba Tawfiq Faisal won first place in the 5-part memorization section, and the student Kazem Walid Abboud also won first place in the 3-part memorization section.
These blessed competitions aim to bring students together at the table of the Holy Qur’an and its great culture, indicating that the goal of holding Qur’anic competitions is to bring students together at the table of the Holy Qur’an and to consolidate the university youth’s relationship with the Holy Book of God.
