A master’s thesis by student Adam Adel Lazem was discussed at the University of Basra, College of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, entitled Cooling a lithium-ion battery packed in a channel with a flexible wall and barriers. In this thesis, a study was conducted. A three-dimensional numerical design for a system constant over time with turbulent fluid flow with the use of a fixed heat generation source for a thermal management system used to control and regulate the temperatures of high-capacity batteries by making modifications to a traditional thermal management system that uses air as a cooling fluid and is equipped using fans. It includes Modifications use flexible walls that are installed on the walls of the container in four different designs Roof, L-shaped, Right Angled and Staggered) and is compared to the traditional design to determine the rate of improvement in the performance of the thermal system by studying the decrease in temperature of the batteries and the difference Temperatures between them to determine their uniformity and the rate of pressure drop to determine the rate of energy consumed The results showed that the use of walls Flexibility leads to an increase in the rate of pressure drop because it leads to intercepting the flow of the cooling fluid. It also appears that increasing the distance between the batteries and increasing the speed leads to an increase in the rate of pressure drop as well. The appropriate construction was carried out with high precision and the numerical results extracted from this study were confirmed by comparing them with A previous study studied practically and numerically
