Pharmacy Faculty Member Publishes Scientific Research on Allergic Rhinitis in an International Medical Journal
Instructor Zainab Najm Abdulnabi, a distinguished faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, has officially published a rigorous scientific research paper entitled (Allergic rhinitis symptoms, causes and treatment among medical students in Basra city) in the globally recognized (The Egyptian Journal of Hospital Medicine).
The published research encompassed a highly detailed and in-depth analytical study concerning allergic rhinitis, technically characterizing it as a chronic disease that directly and structurally impacts academic and occupational performance as well as attendance rates, thereby constituting a progressively escalating global health concern. The study clarified physiologically that this inflammation fundamentally results from the immune system's localized adverse reactions to inhaled allergens, which consequently provokes distressing clinical symptoms such as severe nasal itching, rhinorrhea, and severe nasal congestion.
The primary objective of the specialized research was to systematically study the prevalence and clinical impact of allergic rhinitis specifically among Iraqi medical students, while meticulously evaluating the applied therapeutic strategies. Furthermore, the rigorous investigative study concentrated structurally on identifying the most universally prevalent clinical symptoms induced by this disease, precisely diagnosing critical environmental and health risk factors, and rigorously documenting effective local treatment and prevention protocols actively utilized within Iraq to robustly combat this pervasive health challenge.
