His doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra discussed the media and the problematic of receiving in contemporary Arab formation.
The thesis presented by researcher Asaad Abdul Mohsen Ali included the topic of media and deciphering the codes of contemporary plastic art, which requires a great intellectual effort, in order to enable communication between the artist and the media by abstracting the ambiguity to reach a clear reading to present the achievement to the recipient in an understandable way.
The thesis aims to reveal the role of the media in receiving the Contemporary Arab formation and to demonstrate its influence in the process of receiving and to try to find solutions to the problem of receiving in relation to this aspect.
The thesis concluded that the weakness of the formative critical discourse in the Arab media contributed to weakening the dissemination and documentation and keeping pace with the global competition in the plastic arts.
