University of Basrah hosts the Third International Conference on Endoscopic Urology The College of Medicine at University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Scientific Council of the Endoscopic Urology Fellowship in the Arab Council, hosted the third international conference within the College of Medicine and within the framework of University of Basrah’s plan to develop its cadres and improve its medical services to serve the community and the educational process for postgraduate studies (board) and preliminary studies. The conference included several important research and scientific topics presented by urology specialists from various governorates of Iraq and from outside it. The conference included attention to subspecialties, similar to those in developed countries, by sponsoring fellowships designated for that purpose and establishing specialized centers equipped with the latest equipment. In addition to introducing robotic surgery to Iraq, similar to neighboring countries, especially in modern hospitals, and holding workshops on developments in laparoscopic surgery, the conference indicated the formation of joint committees from the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Health to lay the fundamental foundations for the advancement of these delicate specialties and the development of infrastructure and postgraduate studies from During the delegation of board students to internationally advanced centers to acquire skills and study the single track in obtaining a subspecialty in laparoscopic surgery.
