The publication of a book by an elite group of Basra University teachers on climate change in Iraq
A book entitled The Encyclopedia of Climate Change in Iraq and Some of its Environmental Impacts was published by the teachers at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra, Dr. Kazem Abdel-Wahab Al-Asadi and Dr. Bushra Ramadan Yassin, in collaboration with the assistant teacher, Zahraa Karim Jassim.
The book, which included 853 pages distributed over eight chapters, dealt with the problem of drought, desertification, and the decrease in the amount of fresh water and its impact on the economic, health, and social lives of its residents and its political problems with neighboring countries, which led to the emergence of a large class of them below the poverty line, which led to their migration, which was reflected in The course of life.
The importance of the book comes from the fact that it accurately identifies these problems and shows the extent to which Iraq is affected by these climate changes in order to develop appropriate solutions to them that begin with the individual and end in society.
