The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra organized a scientific symposium on developing scientific research under the title (Solid scientific research is the path to international classifications), for graduate students in the research stage.
The symposium aimed to explain the importance of solid scientific research for university and academic institutions, the characteristics of a good researcher, and the obstacles and problems to which the researcher is exposed.
The symposium, in which the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Nedaa Muhammad Baqir, lectured, highlighted the characteristics of the researcher that he must possess, such as patience, perseverance, objectivity, honesty, staying away from subjectivity and impartiality, and his concern being to reach the truth. She also learned about the problems and obstacles that researchers are exposed to.
She stressed the importance of publishing in Scopus and that the deanship is in the process of supporting and activating the research and translation units to facilitate the work of researchers and direct them on how to publish in international journals and support translation, with the college bearing half of the translation costs.
Dr. Abbas Faleh Hassan touched on the controls and instructions pertaining to postgraduate students and called for the necessity of adhering to and following them.
