The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra organized a series of guidance seminars for fourth-year students coming to practical application in secondary schools.
The seminars aim to clarify the educational directives that must be adhered to during the practical application period in order to perform their pedagogical and educational tasks for which they were trained during their years of study in the college, and in order to reflect the positive image of their college, which prepared them academically and pedagogically.
The seminars presented by the application committee consisting of Dr. Prof. Abbas Abdul Hassan Kazem and Prof. Dr. Mortada Abbas and Prof. Dr. Amal Al-Mansouri, responsible for the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the college, explained the instructions and controls that must be followed during the application period, as well as the instructions and directives that must be observed by those applying.
The head of the Psychological Counseling Unit gave an orientation lecture entitled (Successful Classroom Management Strategies) in which she discussed the most important foundations of successful classroom management and identified the most important factors influencing it, and their importance for the applying student to have effective classroom management. Then she explained eight basic steps to achieve successful classroom management with realistic examples, and identified the most important Factors that lead to classroom chaos and how to avoid them.
The seminars emphasized motivating students to persevere and commit themselves during the application period, which reflects the positive image of the scientific department and the college and that this experience is productive and fruitful for what was learned previously.
