The Geography Department at the College of Education for Human Sciences organized a seminar on the morphometric and hydrological implications of the Wadi Khashm Al-Mujadar Basin and their impact on the distribution and characteristics of sediments southeast of Al-Muthanna Governorate.
The seminar aimed to study the Wadi Khashm Al-Majadar Basin and identify the geomorphological, morphometric and hydrological characteristics, the processes affecting the geomorphological development of the basin, and the nature of human investments in the basin.
The seminar, presented by graduate student Doha Jawad Kazem, included studying the geographic characteristics of the basin’s natural and human lands, the prevailing geomorphological processes in the climate zone, studying landforms, conducting a quantitative analysis of the cadastral, formal, and topographical characteristics, the characteristics of the river network, estimating the volume of water revenues, and available economic, agricultural, pastoral, and extractive investments. Surface and groundwater, and discovering the wealth and natural resources it contains.
