The aim of the thesis is This thesis focuses on studying critical positions in the differential cross-sections for the elastic scattering of electrons from some light atoms in the alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, noble gases, and nitrogen at low energies. It also addresses the calculation of the polarization function at these positions. Additionally, the thesis explores the impact of the spin-orbit interaction at critical points by calculating the values of the direct scattering amplitude f(θ), and the spin-flip amplitude g(θ).
