The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah discussed the master thesis entitled (Arabic Sentence Structure in the Book of Al-Lam’ by Ibn Jinni: A Study in Grammatical Language).
The thesis of Waad Jassim Talib included two chapters that explained the structure of the nominal sentence in the book Al-Lam’ and the construction of the verbal sentence in the book Al-Lam’.
The thesis aims to try to search for a phase of the Arabic language in its grammar, and its sentence structure in the fourth century AH, to represent a small nucleus of a large ambitious project, in the book (Al-Lam’ in Arabic by Ibn Jinni), which, despite its importance, had an educational character in which Ibn Jinni used a close simplified language for the understanding, which is close to the intermediate Arabic language or perhaps the language spoken at that time.
The thesis concluded: The Arabic sentence is one of the most important topics that the student must be familiar with in order to monitor the movement and development of the language, as it is the subject of its main composition system and its scope.
The thesis recommended: Answering the study questions: How did Ibn Jinni build his sentence in the book Al-Lam’? Sub-questions also arise from it, which are: What type of sentence did it dominate? Is it verbal or nominal? What are the structures or patterns?
The steadfast that was formed towards the sentence in both types? Then what patterns were less consistent than their counterparts?
