The Continuing Education and Development Centre at the University of Basrah organized a course about "the reality of applying strategic planning.
The objective of the course is to achieve quality in the process of strategic planning in governmental and educational institutions in Iraq by imparting knowledge to participants about the importance of strategic planning, its management, and to acquaint the methods and techniques of strategic planning.
The course, which was presented by the instructor Iman Hatou Jehloul, involves the concept and importance of strategic planning, obstacles to strategic planning, responsibilities and levels of strategic planning, factors influencing the success of strategic planning, stages of strategic planning, alternative strategies, and strategic choices.
At the end of the course, the presenter recommended emphasising the necessity to strive for quality in strategic planning by raising awareness among workers and specialists about the importance of strategic planning to develop the reality of governmental and educational institutions in Iraq.
