
The Dentistry College at Basra University organized the annual International Women’s Day Festival, to celebrate its role and enhance its status in society, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit. In his speech during the celebration, the Dean Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Taha Yassin, praised the role of Iraqi women in general and the role of women at Basra University in particular, which has been witnessed throughout the university’s history.
Lecturer Assistant Farah Abdel Razzaq pointed out the continuation of supporting women’s efforts in the field of scientific research and in the field of university leadership, with the aim of empowering women to be an assistant, a support and a leader to play their role to the fullest in various fields of work alongside their male brother.
The ceremony includes many performances, including art exhibitions of paintings and playing the national anthem on the piano. The Student Activities Unit at the Oil and Gas Industrial Management College, also participated in the festival activities with active contributions and participation, by displaying paintings relate to women, painted by students.
