The Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra organized a scientific symposium on the problem of identity and patriotism, the concept of patriotism, and the role of awareness in embodying identity and enhancing the capacity of society.
The symposium aimed to address the problem of identity, citizenship and patriotism, the role of socialization in gaining awareness and understanding of the surroundings, and the reflection of awareness and awareness on societal peace.
The symposium presented by Dr. Sajid Sharqi Muhammad and a group of students showed that awareness and perception determine the nature of citizenship and the legal relationship of individuals and groups with the state, leading to the achievement of justice and equality, and that identity includes a combination of characteristics that determine the type of identity and the role he plays in his society, leading to adherence to With the highest values that constitute the nation as a whole.
The symposium stressed the necessity of discovering the skills and capabilities inherent in the minds of young people and students and understanding oneself in a way that embodies the spirit of citizenship, strengthening national unity, rejecting hatred and violence, and focusing on cohesion and interaction towards deepening citizenship and consecrating patriotism
