University of Basrah participates in third annual scientific conference for early detection of congenital heart defects
College of Medicine at University of Basrah participated in third annual scientific conference for early detection of congenital heart defects, which was held by the Al-Rahma Childhood Health Organization (NGO) and in the presence of deans of medical colleges, Iraqi, Arab and foreign cardiologists, and the World Health Organization. The Dean, Professor Dr. Mortada Muhammad Saleh Al-Musafer, chaired the first scientific sessions of the conference, which A number of scientific lectures and workshops were held by specialized doctors from Iraq and Arab and international countries, in addition to holding an exhibition to display the latest international products in the field of open heart surgery. Dean of College was honored with a shield for his active participation in the conference, and the conference produced a number of scientific recommendations that would develop the reality of congenital heart defect operations and their early detection. The conference witnessed the establishment of workshops and a health campaign to detect congenital heart diseases in children in Basrah and at the Basrah University Consulting Medical Center.
