Within a series of campaigns carried out by the College of Nursing at the University of Basra
Under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Abdul-Amir Abdullah Al-Musawi, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and in cooperation with the faculty, staff, and students of the college.
Believing in its role in combating desertification and sustaining the vegetation cover at the university, our college today, Sunday, March 10, 2024, implemented a planting campaign in which a group of professors, employees, and students participated.
This campaign aims to increase green spaces and provide suitable climates and a suitable environment for the student, as a number of areas were planted with evergreen trees and the gardens were decorated with roses and trees that are resistant to environmental conditions and high temperatures in the summer. The campaign included planting many seedlings of various types of trees with a high ability to withstand Hot conditions in Basra Governorate
For his part, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College, said that this campaign aims to strengthen the foundations and principles of the model educational environment, which requires providing a healthy climate and an appropriate environmental atmosphere for students, teaching staff and associates working in the college, in addition to improving the aesthetic appearance and highlighting the campus in its splendor. The most beautiful image to enhance environmental sustainability.
The representatives stressed that this campaign comes within the framework of sustaining and preserving the gardens, and confirming the university’s keenness in community participation, in addition to promoting positive behaviors to preserve the university’s environment and improve the quality of life.
