The University of Basra organizes a scientific symposium on the occasion of International Women’s Day
The Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra, in cooperation with the Martyrs Foundation, organized a scientific symposium on the occasion of International Women's Day entitled The Role of Women in Society - Selected Models.
The symposium aimed to identify the beginning of the celebration of International Women's Day, and to discuss examples of women from different eras and countries.
The symposium explained the reasons that led to making March 8 Women’s Day, after a group of women in the United States of America in 1857 organized demonstrations to demand their rights and improve their social conditions, and explain the role of women in the political aspect, and the stages of their obtaining freedom and equality, as well as learning about Examples of women who stood with the prophets in spreading the heavenly message.
Dr. Furat Abdel Hassan Kazem, Dr. Amira Rashk Laibi, Dr. Widad Salem Muhammad, Dr. Nidal Muhammad Qambar, and Mrs. Ruqaya Hashem from the Martyrs Foundation participated in the symposium.
