The University of Basra organizes a scientific symposium on the occasion of International Women’s Day
The Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra organized a scientific symposium on the occasion of International Women's Day in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Nidaa Muhammad Baqir.
During the symposium, which was moderated by a number of female faculty members from the college, the historical origin of making March 8 International Women’s Day was explained, as well as the role of women in the health aspect and their distinguished position during the Corona pandemic and other situations. The symposium also touched on distinguished scientific figures and the activity of Iraqi women in scientific research.
The Dean of the College gave a guidance speech to the female students on how to build a strong, self-confident personality, and stressed the need to be careful and stay away from social networking sites, not to send pictures, and to focus on the scientific aspect.
The symposium was attended by Dr. Batoul Banai, Dr. Iman Naeem Shair, teacher Duaa Bashir, and teacher Wafa Abbas.
