The Geography Department at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra organized a scientific symposium on the social problems of the population in the city of Basra.
The symposium aimed to shed light on social problems such as electronic blackmail, domestic violence, and early divorce, their effects, and finding solutions to them.
The symposium, which was presented by a number of college teachers, included an introduction to social problems and their impact on security and community cohesion, electronic blackmail and early divorce and its psychological and social effects, which contributed to reducing the level of the population’s quality of life and well-being and the deterioration of the social, economic and political situation of society.
The symposium called for the need to deal seriously with this type of problem and work to confront it and limit its aggravation using thoughtful scientific methods that are consistent with the nature of society to enhance moral and social values, which contributes to creating a safer, more stable, and more developed society.
