The Dentistry College at Basra University, in cooperation with the Student Activities Unit, held a memorial ceremony on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him), in the presence of the Dean Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Taha Yassin, and a group of professors, employees and students of the college.
Sheikh Raad Al-Rubaie gave his speech on the authority of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him), saying: “Every vessel is narrowed by what is placed in it, except the vessel of knowledge, which is expanded by it, today, and despite what is being squeezed by us and with every living conscience, in this world. On the anniversary of martyrdom, we must be sincere students of the broad humanitarian approach that he brought to us in joining hands, and by everyone, I mean all sects of the Iraqi people (people and government), taking the tear of martyrdom as an example for building the nation and creating a prosperous future according to the principles of science, knowledge and culture, carrying the torch of life. Trust in God and in organized work planned according to a scientific and practical context.
The goal of holding the ceremony is to draw lessons from this painful incident that our students recalled as they recalled the moral values followed by Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him) and his lofty message that illuminated humanity throughout the ages.
In conclusion, the scientific assistant praised the importance of benefiting from lectures and reflecting them on practical reality in improving performance, confronting the plans of the nation’s enemies, and seizing what remains of the holy month in worship, promoting the values of social solidarity, and helping the poor and needy.
