The Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra, in cooperation with the Martyrs Foundation, organized a scientific symposium on the American occupation of Iraq in 2003 and the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyed Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr.

It also explained the position of the Russian Federation on this occupation and its weak position, which was content with a timid denunciation of the war, and the symposium addressed the crimes of the fascist Baathist regime against the Iraqi people and its use. The methods of oppression and persecution against the Iraqi people, and the immortal biography of Mr. Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, whose execution anniversary along with his Alawite sister Bint al-Huda coincided with the day of the fall of this criminal regime.
The symposium called for the need to make known the crimes of the Baath Party and not to be drawn into the ideas put forward by the enemies of the Iraqi people, which attempt to hide the ugly face of the Baathist regime.
The symposium was attended by Dr. Furat Abdel Hassan, Dr. Nidal Muhammad Qambar, teacher Wahad Hashem, and Mrs. Ruqaya Hashem from the Martyrs Foundation
