The Cultural Center at the University of Basra organized a scientific and cultural seminar on the role of language skills and the effect of linguistic errors in official correspondence
The seminar, chaired by Dr. Ingers Toma Youssef, aims to learn the correct way in which official correspondences addressed to government or academic agencies are carried out, and includes official or legal documents, university or administrative orders, and how to address the spread of obscenity from spelling errors that are not suitable for academic and cultural awareness.
The symposium dealt with by Dr. Izhar Ali Yassin Adab included official correspondence in government departments, principles and laws, and the writings of correspondence, grammatical, linguistic and spelling errors, punctuation marks and their places. Dr. Abdul Muttalib Jabbar Aman also touched on the levels of writing and linguistic rhetoric, which include the stages of writing, structural, speech, written and linguistic skills. He touched on the most important mistakes suffered by the administrator and the employee in the correspondence books.
