Teachers at University of Basrah publish research in an international magazine
Two teachers, Dr. Bassem Jassim Hamid and Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, at College of Pharmacy at University of Basrah, published a research entitled (The synergistic effect of lowering hyperlipidemia of lipoic acid with cholesterol-lowering drugs in rats with hyperlipidemia) in the journal (Rom J Diabetes Nutr Metab Dis). Romanian and within the third quarter of the Scopus classification. The research included evaluating the addition of lipoic acid to blood lipid-lowering medications in order to increase the effectiveness of these medications and reduce their side effects. The results of the study showed that adding lipoic acid increased the effectiveness of lipid-lowering drugs very effectively without causing any side effects.
