The thesis by the student Fatima Hadi Ahmed aimed to identify the effect of the two methods of extinguishing negative modification and tours in developing the mental orientation of university students.
The thesis included an important topic, which is the mental orientation of university students. As a result of the progress and development inherent in technical, social, political and economic changes, the various educational sectors and levels in schools and universities have become faced with basic responsibilities, which is their ability to provide students with the information they need throughout their lives. The researcher also felt the research problem because she works in The field of psychological counseling and educational guidance at the university is in direct contact with university students. When she met with the students, the researcher found that the students at the university possess a mental orientation and need someone to develop it in a logical, rational manner, especially since we are in an era of rapid development and the introduction of a huge number of changes that are occurring in society. Which directly and indirectly affects its individuals in various fields, in addition to the enormous content that is accessible to everyone through social networking sites and the materials published there that are usually beyond supervision and control and available in the hands of everyone, which has a very significant impact on building the mental orientation of the individual. Especially university students
The thesis concluded that the two counseling programs based on the methods of extinguishing negative anxiety and the rounds have achieved an impact in developing mental orientation among members of the two experimental groups.
The thesis recommended that the Educational Guidance Division in education directorates and universities instruct its counselors on the importance of using (the two methods of extinguishing negative modification and tours) in developing mental orientation
