My doctoral thesis concluded that those about to divorce have an above-average level of catastrophic thinking, and there is an effect of the distancing and decentralization method in changing catastrophic thinking.
The thesis recommended the need for social researchers to verify the thinking patterns adopted by those about to divorce and help them change these thoughts, if any, to more objective and logical ideas. Social researchers in the Ministry of Justice should benefit from the two programs designed to change the catastrophic thinking of those about to divorce or who have various marital problems.
