The University of Basra organizes a seminar on the Wadi Al-Rumaitha Basin in Al-Muthanna Governorate
The Department of Geography at the College of Education at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the geomorphological analysis of the Wadi Al-Rumaitha basin, northeast of Al-Muthanna Governorate.
The seminar aimed to introduce the factors affecting the geomorphological, morphometric, and geographic characteristics and their role in the geomorphological development of the Wadi Rumaitha Basin and the course of geomorphic processes and their impact on the formation of land features in Wadi Rumaitha.
The seminar, presented by graduate student Balsam Haider Hashem, showed that the Wadi Rumaitha Basin worked on a group of natural factors and geomorphological processes that contributed to influencing its morphometric characteristics, landforms, geological structure, surface nature, slope, climate characteristics, soil and natural vegetation, the characteristics of the water network, the prevailing drainage patterns, and the existing relationship. Between morphometric variables and building an information base for the basin, as well as the possibility of investing in natural resources in the basin and developing plans to develop them and clarifying the types of economic investments in them, especially construction and tourism materials.
