
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra opened its annual conference to discuss graduation projects under the title ((Nations rise and advance through scientific research)). The conference began by reading what was available from the Holy Book of God, playing the national anthem, and pausing for a minute to read Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq.
Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Rashk, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, gave the opening speech, in which he praised the role of education and scientific research in the advancement and progress of nations, appreciating the efforts of teaching staff and all academics and employees for what they provide and what they achieve in terms of achievements.
Rashk pointed out that the graduation research of students of the College of Dentistry is important in enhancing their abilities to develop their skills for scientific research and conducting scientific studies, the role of which is to provide benefit to academics in particular and to find therapeutic means for patients to reduce their suffering and achieve better treatment results.
Assistant Professor Dr. Fateh Abdel-Sahib Al-Khaqani, Dean of the College of Dentistry, added that the conference was held with the participation of students of the final stages.
Regarding the objectives of the conference, Al-Khaqani explained that the conference aims to ensure that the graduate student is able to use the knowledge of his writing, rhetoric, and research abilities and apply professional ethics before actually joining work and implementing what he has learned on the ground.
