The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, in collaboration with the College of Pharmacy at Al-Ma'qal University, is preparing to establish the annual medical detachment to provide healthcare services to pilgrims walking to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
The Dean of the college, Dr. Jubran Khalil Hassan, clarified: "This detachment is an annual initiative carried out with the contribution of the College of Pharmacy's staff, including professors and employees, through financial donations, necessary medicines, and special equipment to serve the pilgrims in all forms."
He added: "We are fully prepared for this year, as the detachment will launch on Saturday, August 10th, and will continue for 4 days and nights on the road connecting the Al-Batha area and Holy Karbala."
This initiative comes within the commitment of pharmacy colleges in Basrah to their social responsibility and humanitarian role in providing the necessary medical support and healthcare for the crowds of pilgrims heading towards the Holy City of Karbala.
