The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, directed active participation in serving the pilgrims of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) during his meeting with the officials of the university's service procession.

The President of the University emphasized mobilizing the university's service and human capabilities to provide logistical and technical services. This includes setting up a procession at the (Shalamcheh) border crossing and at the gate of the (Karma Ali) colleges complex to provide services to the crowds of pilgrims heading to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). The directive also includes providing everything the pilgrim needs during their journey due to the difficult weather conditions, high temperatures, and the hardship of the road. Furthermore, it involves enhancing the mechanisms for transporting pilgrims to reflect an image of solidarity and integration between the university and society, as necessitated by the message of Ashura and its immortal humanitarian goals.

The President of the University added that the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Basrah Health Directorate, has set up a medical detachment at the Shalamcheh border crossing to provide medical services to incoming pilgrims.
