The Launch of the University of Basrah Procession for the Arba'een Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him)
The University of Basrah's procession for the Arba'een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) has officially launched from the city of Basrah towards the holy city of Karbala. The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, stated that the university has allocated more than (20) buses to transport university affiliates, including teaching staff, employees, and students wishing to visit the Imam, entirely free of charge.
The University President continued, explaining that the university has provided all necessary requirements for the procession, which will participate in the unified university processions parade on their designated day. He added that the procession is also accompanied by an intensive medical effort carried out by the medical group colleges (including the College of Pharmacy) to provide free examination services, administer immediate treatments to the honorable visitors, and safely refer emergency cases directly to the hospital.
It is worth noting that the University of Basrah's procession participates annually in the unified mourning procession of Iraqi university students. This profound event will be held in the two holy shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) in the presence of the University President, his assistants for administrative and scientific affairs, and the esteemed college deans. They will march in a unified and majestic procession alongside other Iraqi university student processions toward the holy shrines, chanting slogans of profound sorrow and grief commemorating the tragic event of Al-Taff.
