A master's thesis in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, College of Education for Humanities, discussed the teaching practices of secondary school teachers in private education and their relationship to their professional beliefs in the center of Basra Governorate.
The thesis submitted by the student Afrah Karim Dhuwaie aimed to identify the teaching practices of secondary school teachers in private schools and to identify their professional beliefs and their impact on teacher behavior and professional guidance. The thesis included a sample of 214 male and female teachers. The researcher prepared a scale for teaching practices consisting of (54) paragraphs divided into five areas. As for professional beliefs, the researcher adopted the (Al-Dhamriya 2022) scale developed by Cromblitz 1994, which consisted of 24 paragraphs divided into five areas.
The message included a number of results, including that the level of teaching practices among secondary school teachers is weak, and that there is a correlation between the level of professional beliefs and teaching practices. The researcher concluded that there are deficiencies in teaching practices among secondary school teachers in private schools, especially in the field of evaluation. The message recommended that training courses and workshops be conducted by the authorities responsible for preparation and training on how to formulate educational objectives in their three areas and apply them through the lesson and how to ensure that these objectives are achieved by students using tools such as testing
