A master's thesis in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra examined (determining the concentrations of hydrocarbons in some types of vegetables and fruits in Basra Governorate).
The thesis submitted by the student Ayat Ammar Abdul-Jabbar aims to evaluate the safety of some types of vegetables and fruits in the markets of Basra Governorate for consumption.
The thesis recommended the necessity of keeping agricultural lands away from industrial and urban areas and using modern methods in agriculture by using environmentally friendly machines and washing fruits and vegetables and not watering them with polluted water and reducing the use of chemical pesticides.
