The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on treating wastewater from fish ponds using plant coagulants.
The seminar, which was lectured by graduate student Sajjad Hatem Kazim, aims to treat fish farm pond water and use the precipitated materials after treatment as fertilizers.
The seminar discussed how to test some plants for use as natural coagulants to treat water in fish farm ponds.
The study recommended searching for locally available plants to use as green coagulants.
