The Polymer Research Center at the University of Basra held a workshop on sustainable natural dyes for optical Applications, in which Dr. "Tahseen Ali Abdul Jabbar" and a number of the center's instructors participated, which are obtained from renewable sources such as plants, insects and minerals. These dyes are characterized by their ability to biodegrade and are non-toxic, as they are considered to be of effective value due to their ability to absorb light across a wide spectrum and facilitate the process of transferring electrons, which makes them suitable for use in dye-sensitive solar cells and their use in organic light-emitting diodes as well as in optical sensors and many other various magazines.
