The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the use of partial cosmetic fillings (vonlays) consisting of (onlay + veneer) instead of full covers to preserve the largest amount of tooth composition.
The seminar aims to introduce these cosmetic laboratory fillings and the techniques used to prepare them in the field of work to treat cases of tooth erosion, cases of full mouth rehabilitation for cosmetic reasons (fluorosis, erosion, attrition) and as a cover for teeth after root fillings when there is a sufficient amount of enamel material in the tooth composition.
The seminar, in which Assistant Lecturer Batoul Basem Mounes lectured, included some clinical cases that were treated with these structures, which aim primarily to preserve the tooth material and give it a beautiful and strong shape that is consistent with the force exerted on the teeth as a result of the occlusions.
