A master's thesis at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Basra, discussed (The effect of the value awareness technique in modifying cognitive distortions among secondary school students).
The study presented by the student Khairiya Dawood Salman aimed to identify cognitive distortions among secondary school students, and the effect of the value awareness technique in modifying cognitive distortions among secondary school students.
The researcher's thesis included a study (The value awareness technique in modifying cognitive distortions among secondary school students). The cognitive distortions scale was adopted and a guidance program was built according to the value awareness technique with (16) guidance sessions.
The thesis concluded that there is an effectiveness for the guidance program based on the value awareness technique among secondary school students in the current research, and the researcher reached a number of recommendations and suggestions.
The thesis recommended that the Educational Guidance Division in the education directorates in the governorates contribute to introducing educational counselors to qualifying courses to learn about the value awareness technique in modifying cognitive distortions among secondary school students
