The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on encouraging the culture of academic integrity.
The session aimed to identify integrity in dealing within the scientific institution, scientific honesty in research and illegal plagiarism.
The session, presented by the lecturer Duaa Bashir Abbas, dealt with explaining the term integrity and the supreme values associated with honesty and mutual trust between the teacher and the learner and the most important values of academic integrity that the academic must possess within the scientific institution and scientific honesty when writing research and avoiding illegal plagiarism.
The session addressed the weaknesses in the application of academic integrity and the lack of an effective control system for offices that prepare theses and research for researchers, and the necessity of introducing the academic integrity curriculum as a course in the undergraduate stage
