Under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra
The Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit, organized a workshop on early detection of breast cancer, which was lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Sundus Baqir Dawood, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs. The workshop was moderated by Dr. Fatima Jassim Muhammad, Head of the Women's Affairs Unit The seminar included early detection of breast cancer. The attending students were introduced to the dangers of breast cancer after presenting Iraqi and international statistics in this regard and explaining the most important symptoms and signs associated with the disease, and how to diagnose, treat and prevent this deadly disease that leads to the lives of women, in addition to training students on the method of self-examination of the breast using simulation dolls regarding breast cancer. For his part, Al-Nawab stressed the college's keenness to organize many awareness seminars and workshops throughout the year, in order to activate the college's role in reducing community problems and contributing to solving them.
