The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on private schools in terms of positives and negatives.
The session aimed to identify the most important positives and negatives of private schools, and their role in the educational process in Iraq.
The session, presented by Dr. Maysaa Abdul Hamza, addressed the most important positives of private schools and their role in reducing the burden on government schools and what they possess of modern technology such as smart screens, computer labs and science labs, in addition to the typical numbers in the classroom.
The session showed the negatives of private schools and the lack of appropriate environmental standards and conditions for study such as small spaces and inappropriate design as classrooms, as well as the fact that most of their administrative cadres have no relation to education and do not hold scientific qualifications, in addition to the fact that these schools were established as a profitable investment project
