The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the Faculty of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the impact of the analogical thinking strategy on the acquisition of historical concepts in the second intermediate grade sociology course.
The seminar aimed to develop students' critical and analytical thinking skills, and realize the relationship between the past and the present by using similarities and analogies between different time periods.
The seminar, which was presented by student Hajar Abdul Ridha Abdul Wahid, included the concept of analogical thinking strategy, procedures for its effective application and its impact on the acquisition of historical concepts, identifying the difficulties and challenges facing female and male teachers in teaching history and how to overcome them, as well as identifying its effectiveness and its role in how to improve the acquisition of historical concepts and encourage them to interact with them more effectively.
